The Genesis & Mission
of the IPR Cell

The college inaugurated the Intellectual Property Rights Cell (IPRC) in the academic year of 2023-2024 to illuminate students and innovators with a thorough understanding of intellectual property rights. By nurturing a self-sustainable environment that thrives on innovation and creativity within the college ecosystem, the Cell bridges classroom learning with real-world practice.

Recognising this exponential surge in significance, the institution aims to ingrain foundational awareness of IPR at the very outset of students’ legal journeys. By championing a holistic approach, the Cell provides students with rigorous academic scholarship paired with real-world practical mastery.

Through moot court disputes, peer-reviewed journals, certified courses, expert practitioner colloquiums, and grassroots pro bono assistance, we bridge theoretical law with industry practice.

WHY THE CELL WAS ESTABLISHED

Bridging Classroom Theory with Industry IP Practice

I watched it happen too often, batchmates and seniors writing off IP as a career before really giving it a chance, assuming it did not pay or did not matter. In law school, IP rarely went beyond the syllabus. Businesses carried the same blind spot, treating IP as something to sort out later, after there was actually something worth protecting. By then, someone else had already filed the mark, already owned the idea. That is why I started the IPR Cell in 2023, to make at least a few students look twice. The ones who take IP seriously now will be the ones protecting it later, in boardrooms, in courtrooms, and in businesses of their own.
